(Left) Lt. Col. James Gonyo II, commander of the 1st Battalion, 69th Infantry “Fighting 69th”, speaks with Vernon Downs Hotel and Casino owner Jeff Gural before the start of a concert featuring Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band, Aug. 29. Gonyo came up from New York City to support the United Services Organization of Metropolitan New York and thank Gural for his contributions and continued support to service members. Gural donated more than $150,000 to the USO so they could purchase 2,500 tickets for service members to attend the concert. Additionally, Gural will donate $2 of every ticket sold to the Central New York Veteran’s Outreach Center. 30,000 fans were expected to attend the show.
