The winners of the 2012 Public Safety Awards gather as their plaques are unveiled during the awards ceremony at City Hall in Jacksonville, N.C., Aug. 29. There were four awards being handed out at the ceremony: Firefighting Professional of the Year, Law Enforcement Professional of the Year, Emergency Communications Professional of the Year and the Emergency Medical Services Professional of the Year with Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune personnel earning two of the four.
