A U.S. Army soldier is looking through an optical/targeting sight mounted on a weapon system, likely during a training exercise. The soldier is wearing standard Army Combat Uniform (ACU), a ballistic helmet, protective eyewear, and a communications headset with boom microphone. Spc. Bradley Bell, vehicle commander for the Recon Platoon, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 112th Infantry Regiment, and a Lewistown, Pa. native, ‘gets his eye in’ as he preps the thermal scope attached to his MK19 crew served weapon before his run on the Stryker Gunnery qualification course here on August 15, 2012. For Bell, the qualification provided a chance to expand his skills from Stryker driver to vehicle commander and gunner, he said.
