As the COVID-19 pandemic worsened, many countries began enacting border closings as protective measures to mitigate escalating infection rates. Despite these restrictive actions, DTRA continued to provide foreign partners with the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) mission support. DTRA training enabled Philippine Bureau of Fire Prevention responders to execute decontamination actions after exiting the scene of an ammonia gas leak.
