Michael Witherspoon, commanding officer of Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, presents Christine Galoppa a custom embellished lapel pin commemorating her 10,000 volunteer hours with Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, Feb. 24. The NMCRS' workforce is comprised of nearly 90 percent volunteers who provide financial assistance and counseling, quick assist loans, education assistance, health education and post-combat support, advice on how to budget for a baby, emergency travel assistance, disaster relief and thrift shops for Sailors, Marines and their families. (U.S. Navy photo by Travis J.
