210105-M-JX780-1146 BALEDOGLE MILITARY AIRFIELD, Somalia (Jan. 5, 2021) – U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team 1/4, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, offload from an MV-22 Osprey assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 164 (Reinforced), 15th MEU, after landing. The U.S. remains committed to Somalia and all its African partners through the U.S.’s whole-of-government approach to combat al-Shabaab which remains a threat to East Africa, U.S. interests and, if left unchecked, the U.S. homeland.
