U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Salvador Pasillas, a recruiter with Recruiting Station Sacramento, spoke about what his heritage means to him during a photoshoot in Turlock, California, September 23, 2020. Pasillas was born in Zacatecas, Mexico. He was brought to the United States when he was four years old and grew up in Stockton, California. From a young age, pride and hard work were instilled in him. At the age of 17, he saw the Marine Corps as a great way to become someone and employ that hard working mindset, so he decided to enlist.
