U.S. Marines with 1st Battalion, 2d Marine Regiment, currently attached to 3d Marine Division, and 3d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, provide combined anti-air and anti-armor capabilities during an amphibious defense exercise at Ie Shima, Japan, Jan. 27, 2021. Marines honed their tactical skills while rapidly inserting into an austere location, demonstrating their ability to quickly seize and defend key maritime terrain in the Indo-Pacific region. 1/2 is forward-deployed in the Indo-Pacific under 4th Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division.
