U.S. Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Mark Hashimoto is briefed by U.S. Navy medical personnel prior to receiving his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at Bloch Arena, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Jan. 13, 2021. He serves as the commanding general of Force Headquarters Group, Marine Corps Forces Reserves as well the executive director of U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific. He voluntarily received the vaccination as part of the Department of Defense’s phased approach in order to help maintain the health and readiness of U.S. military and civilian personnel at home and abroad. The COVID-19 vaccine is given in a two-dose series separated by three to four weeks.
