GREAT LAKES, Ill. (Dec. 29, 2020) Graphic illustration created to use as the prominent visual aid in advertisement recruiting Sailors to apply for billets as Recruit Division Commanders (RDCs) at Recruit Training Command. The illustration will be used in an upcoming issue of My Navy HRs Sailor to Sailor newsletter as a key element in a communications plan supplemented by the Naval Service Training Command’s public affairs department. The strategic layout of the design incorporates staple compositional design elements to amplify its intended impact. The background makes use of disjointed shapes to assimilate texture. The disharmony of the texture produces contrast to the primary focal element, further highlighting the main subject’s importance. The stoic RDCs are arranged proportionally to balance the design and lead the audiences focus to the center. Emphasis was deployed by enhancing the vibrance of the iconic red ropes to indicate a connection of all design elements to the primary purpose of recruitment.
