201222-N-N0777-1002 PORTSMOUTH, Va. (Dec. 22, 2020) Hospitalman Naomi Ishou, from San Diego, assigned to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP), fills a syringe with the new COVID-19 vaccine. Medical staff assigned to the aircraft carrier USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77) were at NMCP to receive the first round of the vaccine. NMCP is supporting the fleet by providing the voluntary vaccination within the DoD phased approach to prioritizing mission-essential healthcare personnel in receiving the vaccine.
