U.S. Army Spc. Raul Jaimes, East African Response Force (EARF) indirect fire infantryman, drops a mortar into a 60mm mortar system during a live fire exercise Dec. 16, 2020, at an undisclosed location in Djibouti. This was the first time in several years that an EARF company fired mortars within the region, helping them maintain the ability to respond rapidly to crisis anywhere in the AFRICOM area of responsibility.
