Indirect fire infantrymen assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, fire an Accelerated Precision Mortar Initiative cartridge, Aug. 8, at Fort Stewart, Ga. The APMI round is a GPS-guided 120 mm mortar that allows precision-strike capability, creating less collateral damage on the battlefield.
