Blanchfield Army Community Hospital Cook Mr. Victor Garcia serves a meal in a biodegradable, compostable and eco-friendly food packaging container made from wheat straw, just one of many measures the hospital has implemented to help conserve the environment. The hospital was recently recognized for its commitment to reducing its environmental footprint through implementation of a number of “green” programs to increase operational efficiency and environmental stewardship while improving patient safety and care through tools, best practices and knowledge sharing.
