Nickayla Myers-Garner is a Gold-Star spouse who resides in the Hohenfels area. Myers-Garner’s husband, Capt. Mark Garner, who served with the 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2009. His family continues to live and work in the Hohenfels area, and Myers-Garner said that there are other families who also remain in the area who remain involved in the community.
