European Space Agency (ESA) engineers building the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) spacecraft at Matra Marconi Space in Portsmouth, England, Nov. 22, 1995. The SOHO spacecraft was prepared for launch at the SAEF-2 facility of the Kennedy Space Center before being fueled and encapsulated on top of the Atlas-Centaur AC-121 on pad 36B. The SOHO and LASCO consortium celebrate their 25th anniversary of international cooperation between European Space Agency and NASA on Dec. 2, 2020.
