Spc. Shay Silversmith, an Apache helicopter mechanic (15R) assigned to 2-6 Cavalry Squadron, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, 25th Infantry Division from Red Lake, Arizona. Silversmith is Navajo, the largest tribe of North American Indians. “I joined the army to better my life for my family and I,” said Silversmith. “To serve in the Army is an honor not everyone gets and I am bless and humble to follow in the footsteps of my grandfather, my father, uncle and my brother.”
