Sgt. Dariusz Krzywonos from 2nd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, winds up and prepares to throw a ceremonial First Pitch prior to the start of Tuesday night’s baseball game between the Tacoma Rainiers and New Orleans Zephyrs at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, Wash. August 7.
Krzywonos was selected as the United States Army Forces Command “Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year” following a mentally and physically challenging evaluation at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and was honored as an ‘Armed Forces Member of the Game’.
The 4th SBCT, 2nd Inf. Div. ‘Raiders’ gathered at the ballpark for an evening of rest and relaxation following recent training at the National Training Center in California, to emerge refreshed and ready to resume preparations for future training and operations.
The ‘Raiders’ are scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan late autumn in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
