201110-N-FP334-1228 ARABIAN SEA (Nov. 10, 2020) Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Mechanical) 1st Class Jesusa Nostrates, from San Diego, monitors the propulsion plant aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Ralph Johnson (DDG 114), during a replenishment-at-sea with the dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Wally Schirra (T-AKE 8). Ralph Johnson is part of the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group and is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three critical chokepoints to the free flow of global commerce.
