A U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet (Bureau Number 100) assigned to a carrier air wing is captured during an arrested landing on an aircraft carrier flight deck. The aircraft's tail hook has engaged the arresting wire, producing visible smoke and tire marks from the sudden deceleration. The tail code 'AD' and modex '100' identify this as the Carrier Air Wing One (CVW-1) Commander's aircraft.

Capt. Cassidy Norman pilots an F/A-18E Super Hornet attached to the “Gladiators” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 106, as it lands aboard USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) flight deck, Oct. 31, 2020. Norman has conducted carrier qualifications on six classes of aircraft carriers. Ford is underway in the Atlantic Ocean conducting carrier qualifications.
