U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Zachary Valentine and Spc. Mitchell Arnone observe explosive ordnance disposal personnel from the Kosovo Security Force and the Norwegian People’s Aid during ordnance disposal operations Sept. 25, 2020, in northern Kosovo. Arnone and Valentine, both EOD technicians organic to the 720th EOD Company, have operated in Kosovo within the NATO-led Kosovo Force mission since earlier this year. U.S. Army EOD assets in Kosovo are responsible for supporting organizations like the KSF and NPA in their year-round ordnance disposal operations. The NPA is a non-government organization based in Norway who conducts EOD and humanitarian missions around the world while KSF is a Kosovo government institution. U.S. Army assets within KFOR are committed to working with both government and non-government organizations throughout Kosovo to ensure the safety and security and freedom of movement for all Kosovo community members in accordance with the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244.
