Soldiers from the 249th Engineer Battalion, Fort Bragg, N.C., are supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers assessment of damaged homes, Oct 19. 2020, after Hurricane Laura devastated the area in Calcasieu Parish. Hurricane Delta hit the area once again weeks later adding to the destruction Laura left behind. Staff Sgt. Pho Nguyen, 249th Engineer Battalion, conducts an assessment on the roof of a home. The tree behind him landed on the roof during Hurricane Delta. Just a few weeks before, the team assessed the same home which sustained damage during Hurricane Laura.
