Robert Smith, commodore of Navy Recruiting Command (NRC) Region Central, speaks with recruiters at Navy Recruiting Station Mehlville, part of Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Mid America, Oct. 15, 2020. Region Central was recently established by NRC on Oct. 1 and is responsible for more than a third of the Navy’s annual recruiting goal, overseeing nine NTAGs, 350 recruiting stations and covering 850,000 square miles. NTAG Mid America, part of NRC and Region Central, recruits the next generation of Navy Sailors throughout areas encompassing Missouri, Kansas, central and southern Illinois, and a portion of Kentucky.
