U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Nicholas Hames, left, and U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Nelson Rojas, 673d Communications Squadron cyber control operators, set up secure voice communications in a simulated remote location as part of exercise Polar Force 21-1 at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Oct. 13, 2020. Polar Force is a biannual two-week mission readiness exercise designed to test multiple elements of the Agile Combat Employment concept of operations. The exercise allows Soldiers and Airmen from units across JBER to develop and strengthen the skills required in austere environments and adverse situations. This iteration was adapted to follow COVID-19 health and safety measures.
