Command Sgt. Maj. Dennis Woods, center, command sergeant major of Division West's 191st Infantry Brigade, presents a certificate written in Dari to a role-played Afghan National Army officer during training for Woods' Security Force Assistance Adviser Team at the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, La., July 19. The 191st soldiers, from the mountainous area of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., emphasized their connection to their counterparts in mountainous Afghanistan by using a picture of Mount Rainier on the certificate. The two regions - Washington and eastern Afghanistan, where the SFA AT team will be located - are also both known for producing apples, Woods told the officer.
