SAN DIEGO (Sept. 30, 2020) Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Leticia Herrera, a Sailor assigned to Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD) (right), and Beth Webster, a volunteer from Cornerstone Therapeutic Riding Center (left), pet a miniature horse at the hospital’s softball field Sept. 30. Sailors were able to pet and learn about horses after completing the Defense Organizational Climate Survey (DEOCS). NMCSD’s mission is to prepare service members to deploy in support of operational forces, deliver high quality healthcare services and shape the future of military medicine through education, training and research. NMCSD employs more than 6,000 active duty military personnel, civilians, and contractors in Southern California to provide patients with world-class care anytime, anywhere.
