Goro Yuasa, chief of the ground staff, Japan Ground Self Defense Force (JGSDF), speak with senior-level officers from U.S. Army, Pacific (USARPAC), and U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific (MARFORPAC) via video teleconference during the Trilateral Senior Leaders’ Seminar (TSLS) on Fort Shafter, Hawaii, Sept. 23, 2020. TSLS brings together senior military leaders from MARFORPAC; USARPAC; U.S. Special Operations Command, Pacific; the Australian Army; and JGSDF to exchange information, tactics and views. The purpose of the TSLS program is to promote mutual understanding of each member’s regional security cooperation perspectives, priorities, strategy, plans, and activities in order to synchronize efforts and achieve the shared vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
