200929-N-UR565-0417 NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY SOUDA BAY, Greece (Sept. 29, 2020) Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, U.S. Ambassador to Greece Geoffrey Pyatt, and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, along with members of their staffs, onboard Hellenic Navy Frigate H.S. Salamis (F-445) at the Marathi NATO Pier Facility on Sept. 29, 2020. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo traveled to Greece, September 28-30, 2020, to meet with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias to renew the shared commitment to advance security, peace, and prosperity in the Eastern Mediterranean and Western Balkans, as well as celebrate what the State Department calls the strongest U.S.-Greek relationship in decades. NSA Souda Bay is an operational ashore base that enables U.S., allied, and partner nation forces to be where they are needed and when they are needed to ensure security and stability in Europe, Africa, and Southwest Asia.
