Oregon Army National Guard Col. Eric Riley visits a potato and chips producing factory Sept. 22, 2020, in Vucitrn/Vushtrri, Kosovo. The factory is locally owned and operated within a municipality that falls within the Kosovo Force Regional Command East’s area of operations. The factory has been in business for nearly three decades and currently partners with local potato farmers throughout Kosovo, employs a diverse blend of ethnicities and genders in its facilities, and continues to distribute its products throughout Kosovo and across Europe. Riley, who is organic to the ORARNG’s 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, is KFOR RC-E’s commander and visited the farm to show his support of economic growth in Kosovo. KFOR is a NATO-led mission charged with ensuring the safety and security and freedom of movement for all the people in Kosovo in accordance with the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244.
