200922-N-IE405-1222 STRAIT OF HORMUZ (Sept. 22, 2020) - Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Kaylin Lee observes a MH-60R Seahawk helicopter, attached to Helicopter Strike Squadron (HSM) 48, during flight operations in support of Operation Sentinel aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS Philippine Sea (CG 58) in the Strait of Hormuz, Sept. 22. Philippine Sea is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three critical chokepoints to the free flow of global commerce.
