JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO, FORT SAM HOUSTON – (Sept. 23, 2020) Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio Commanding Officer Cmdr. Nicholas Gamiz (right center), joined by Cmdr. Michael Files, Command Master Chief Francisco Valdovinos (left), and Master Chief Navy Counselor Matthew Maduemesi (right), holds the 2004 Navy Recruiting Command’s (NRC) Bronze “R” Award at NRD headquarters. The NRD was again awarded the Bronze “R” by NRC for its performance during the first half of fiscal year 2020. “We are so fortunate to be recognized amongst the highest caliber NRDs and Navy Talent Acquisition Groups in the nation,” said Gamiz of Albuquerque, N.M. “It is truly a testament to the hard work that the recruiters and support personnel of NRD San Antonio who put their heart into their jobs on a daily basis.” To be eligible for the award, a NRD or Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) must achieve all Enlisted “E” and Officer “O” recruiting categories selected by NRC. NRD San Antonio’s area of responsibility includes more than 34 Navy Recruiting Stations and Navy Officer Recruiting Stations spread throughout 144,000 square miles of Central and South Texas territory.
