I Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF) Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Karsten Heckl, I MEF Sergeant Major, Sgt. Maj. James Porterfield, and I MEF Command Master Chief, CMDCM Toby Ruiz, presented challenge coins and a plaque to staff from Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla August 31, 2020. The coins and plaque represent the Marine Corps’ thanks to the doctors and other personnel who provided aid to Marines injured in the assault amphibious vehicle incident on July 30, 2020.
