Cmd. Sgt. Major Clark Charpentier presents Staff Sgt. Michael Nguyen, the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE) 2020 Best Warrior Noncommissioned Officer, with his official award during an informal awards ceremony on Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas, August 2020. Nguyen was unable to attend the Trinity award ceremony July 20, 2020 due to a Restriction of Movement (ROM), one of the many COVID-19 mitigation measures used by MEDCoE. After pre-approved travel to Fort Hood for an academic test, he was subject to a 14 day period of self-quarantine that meant he had to watch the formal awards ceremony on Facebook Live. Charpentier presented Nguyen with his formal award, which included an Army Commendation Medal at a small, informal ceremony after his ROM.
