JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Aug. 12, 2020) – Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Daniel Ambrose prepares a vaccine for a sailor at Naval Branch Health Clinic Jacksonville. Ambrose, a native of Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida, says, “We play an important role in public health. Our job is to vaccinate the staff of 44 tenant commands, so they’re able to complete their missions in various parts of the world without having to worry about getting sick from a vaccine-preventable disease.” While many serious diseases are no longer common in the U.S. thanks to vaccines, these diseases still exist and can spread when people aren’t vaccinated.
