Nious, right, a native of Richmond, Va., returns a salute from behind a protective barrier while standing watch aboard Nimitz-class nuclear aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). These barriers are one of the preventative measures Vinson has put in place to fight the spread of COVID-19, including hand-sanitizer stations, temperature screenings and enforced social distancing.
