Lieutenant Col. George C. Schreffler and Lt. Col. Gilbert W. Juarez salute during the pass and review portion of a change of command ceremony for 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion where Schreffler relinquished command to Juarez July 20, 2012. Schreffler, from Harrisburg, Pa., recently returned from a seven-month deployment to Afghanistan with the battalion. Juarez, a San Diego native, was a company commander with 1st LAR in 2002, and rejoined the unit during the ceremony.
