U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Zachary Cordoba, an unmanned aerial systems operator with Aviation Combat Element, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, prepares to launch the RQ-21A Blackjack at Kangaroo Flats Training Area, Northern Territory, Australia, July 30, 2020. Cordoba is an Albany, Georgia native.

“This being the first RQ-21 being launched in Australia is a pretty big deal. We take pride in VMU-3 being not only the first to launch the bird but also the first VMU to be in Australia. I’m honored and proud of my Marines and everything we have and will accomplish moving forward.”

The RQ-21A allows for safe, forward observation in austere environments. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Alexandria Nowell)
