BACH Command Sgt. Maj. Daniel Santiago welcomed Regional Health Command-Atlantic Senior Enlisted Advisor Command Sgt. Maj. Rebecca Booker to the hospital July 28, replacing the traditional handshake with an elbow bump. Medical experts recommend replacing germ-spreading handshakes with foot taps, elbow bumps, or even a simple wave because handshakes can transfer much more bacteria and viruses that can cause the common cold, flu, and the new coronavirus, COVID-19. Booker visited BACH with Regional Health Command-Atlantic Commander Brig. Gen. Paula Lodi for a first-hand look at the hospital's COVID-19 response efforts.
