Fridrik Fridriksson earned the Legion of Merit medal for his time as the commanding officer of 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., July 16, 2020. Due to the current health environment, specific procedures were implemented such as reducing the number of guests, wearing face masks, and social distancing; however, the culture and tradition of the ceremony remained a priority for all involved.
