200708-N-FC674-1021 BETHESDA, Maryland (July 8, 2020) United States Air Force Major General Lee E. Payne, Lead, Department of Defense COVID-19 Task Force, Diagnostics and Testing Line of Effort, visited Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) to observe COVID-19 testing efforts and to thank staff for their hard work and continued dedication during COVID-19. Payne visited the Centralized Screening Area (CSA), where patients are screened via drive-thru or walk-in, and the microbiology lab testing COVID-19 samples. WRNMMC and all military treatment facilities in the National Capital Region (NCR) efforts are in support of the whole of government effort to combat COVID19 along the East Coast of the United States of America (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Kurtis A.
