U.S. Soldiers along with U.S. nationals render a salute under the statue commemorating the uprising in Poznan during a ceremony on June 28, 2020. The Poznan Uprising was a protest of industrial workers that caused a crisis among the Polish communist leadership as well as in the Soviet bloc in June 1956. The uprising culminated when 100,000 people gathered outside of the Minister of Public Security in Poznan, with 400 tanks and 10,000 Soldiers from the Polish People's Army being used to suppress the protests, resulting in 60-100 civilians killed and several hundred wounded.
