Sgt. Lazaro A. Reyes, 1188th Transportation Battalion, holds the unit’s colors while 1st Sgt. Ursula R. Kirnes, senior enlisted advisor, 1188th Trans. Bn., and Lt. Col. Tom J. Williams, commander, 1188th Trans. Bn., render a hand salute during their transfer of authority ceremony to 1184th Transportation Battalion, at Camp Arifjan, June 11, 2020. During their tenure in the Middle East, which was extended due to COVID-19, Soldiers of the 1184th Trans. Bn. supported 185 unit moves with 58 vessel missions, from the busiest Port in the Central Command area of operations. Over a span of 44 weeks, with an average of 1.28 vessel missions per week, they moved 18, 417 pieces of cargo. The newly arrived 1184th Trans. Bn. spent several weeks side-by-side with 1188th Trans.
