The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst test team completed more than 800 no-loads and over 500 dry cycles of the C-13 Mod 2 Steam Catapult Improved Low Loss Launch Valve (ILLLV) using a new grease formula at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. during the first week of June. The improved grease formulation will reduce grease build up and corrosion of ILLLV, thereby reducing maintenance man hours associated with cleaning/skimming of the water brake and provide improved performance over the current grease.
