Terrence O’Shaughnessy, commander, North American Aerospace Defense Command and United States Northern Command, renders honors while walking through sideboys on the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) in the Atlantic Ocean May 29, 2020. Gen. O’Shaughnessy, the operational commander, was aboard the carrier to observe the homeland defense operations. U.S. Northern Command's top priority is homeland defense, and leading complex multi-combatant command operations across multiple domains demonstrates USNORTHCOM’S readiness to defend the homeland regardless of COVID-19.
