Brig. Gen. W. Scott Lynn addresses UAMTF 452-1 during retrograde operations at Field Medical Station (FMS) Edison in Edison, NJ. The FMS began operation on April 11, 2020 and was staffed with Soldiers of UAMTF 452-1, from the 452 Combat Support Hospital headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis. Over the course of operations UAMTF 452-1 gradually transitioned in civilian staff, and is now fully staffed by civilians supporting the New Jersey Department of Health. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the whole-of-nation COVID-19 response.
