When warrant officers become a force multiplier

At Pennsylvania Task Force-South’s Joint Emergency Operations Center three warrant officer’s inspect personal protective equipment to distribute to medical task force members, one of the many tasks they have been asked to accomplish. They have combined skill sets to include logistics, material supply acquisition and intelligence to provide PTF-South leaders expert advise. Warrant officers are experts in a particularly technical field, often with long service as enlisted personnel. Having three warrant officers in management roles in a JEOC is extremely rare but warranted during the current Covid-19 crisis. From left to right are Chief Warrant Officer 3 Russ Harris, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Paul Hanson, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Rich Kauffman. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Master Sgt. George Roach)
