Capt. Eric Siemens, of Marshalltown, Iowa, visits his Soldiers at the first drive-through testing site for COVID-19 in Des Moines. Siemens, a patrol officer for the Marshalltown Police Department in his civilian life, was called to State Active Duty first to support the establishment of Task Force Central at Camp Dodge, then as the commander of the 186th Military Police Company when his troops were mobilized to support the testing site. Siemens received his commission through the Iowa State University Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program where he formed bonds with many of the officers he’s working with at TF-Central now, ten years later.
