200423-N-WJ362-0143 NEW YORK (April 23, 2020) – U.S. Navy Lt. Anthony Waite, Jr. and Hospitalman Kaila Jenkins assist patients during discharge from the hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20). The Comfort cares for critical and non-critical patients without regard to their COVID-19 status. The Comfort is working with Javits New York Medical Station as an integrated system to relieve the New York City medical system, in support of the Department of Defense’s COVID-19 response. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, is providing military support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help communities in need.
