167th Airlift Wing learns face mask molding from Shepherd University staff

Shepherd University staff, Kay Dartt, 3-D fabrication manager, and Chase Molden, theater technical director, show Airmen with the 167th Airlift Wing how to use silicone molds to make N95 face masks, at the Martinsburg, W.Va., air base, April 20, 2020. Dartt and Molden started working with open source 3-D printer designs and have made hundreds of masks for area fire and police departments, hospitals and nursing homes. After some experimentation they were able to develop to a silcone mold system that allow components of the N95 masks to be cast. Airmen will continue casting masks, up to 70 per hour can be made from the molds made by Molden and Dartt. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Senior Master Sgt. Emily Beightol-Deyerle)
