Mindi Acree, Masks for the KMC creator, makes a face covering in Zweibrucken, Germany, April 16, 2020. Acree, along with her husband and a friend, began making face coverings in March to negate the spread of coronavirus disease 2019. The demand for them grew when the U.S. Department of Defense established a mandate for face coverings to be worn in certain settings. She gathered donations and volunteers via the online group and together they donated approximately 2,000 face coverings to the Kaiserslautern Military Community so far.
